Midland Corrosion Services Ltd. is a leading provider of corrosion consultancy services to industry. Our corrosion testing laboratories at Darley Dale, Derbyshire is the central location from which we deliver a cost-effective, professional service to organisations across the UK & Europe.

We carry out corrosion and materials failure analysis for many sectors including building services (HVAC systems) where we have particular expertise. We have built up a strong reputation for investigating failures, determining the root cause of problems and recommending appropriate solutions.  This is built on many years' of experience coupled with a deep understanding of corrosion processes.  Where required, we take on expert witness cases.

Corrosion and materials testing is carried out to international, national or industry standards or designed to meet specific client needs. We are also a BuildCert approved laboratory for carrying out corrosion inhibitor testing.

Sandberg LLP acquires MCS

We are delighted to announce that since 1 May 2018, MCS has been wholly owned by Sandberg LLP.

Founded in 1850, Sandberg LLP is a materials and engineering consultancy with an international reputation for excellence.  Sandberg's main laboratories are in Clapham with metallurgical labs and main offices in Belgravia, London. 

Dr. Phillip Munn will continue to run MCS from their premises in Darley Dale. However, the link between Sandberg and MCS will strengthen the expertise within the group as well as providing more testing and analytical services.

MCS aquires XRF analyser to add to services

MCS has recently purchased a Fischerscope XRF analyser. This will enable us to rapidly identify alloy grades, measure coating thicknesses and analyse deposits for elements with atomic no. >12. With a 0.2 mm colimated beam, it will be able to detect impurities within small pits. In addition, we will also be able to assay gold and other precious metals.
