Latest News: Corrosion and Environmental Services Ltd.has been acquired by Sheffield Testing Laboratories
We are pleased to announce that Midland Corrosion (Corrosion and Environmental Services Ltd.) has been acquired by Sheffield Testing Laboratories. As from 1 Sept. 2008, Phillip Munn will be working for Sheffield Testing Laboratories as head of their new Corrosion Services department.
Sheffield Testing Laboratories (STL) is part of Stork Material Technologies BV, who own in total 30 test laboratories in Europe and the United States. STL is also a UKAS accredited testing and calibration laboratory approved to carry out material testing (material properties, chemical analysis and corrosion testing), metallurgical investigation and failure analysis and dimensional and force calibration. This means that in addition to the corrosion services offered by Corrosion & Environmental Services and Midland Corrosion, the new Corrosion Services department at STL will have additional in-house expertise, testing and analytical facilities.
The main area of expertise for the Corrosion Services department will be in carrying out failure investigations in domestic (drinking) water and recirculating heating and cooling systems, aqueous corrosion testing, inhibitor evaluation and consultancy in materials selection. Other corrosion tests like autoclave testing, potentiostatic and potentiodynamic testing and NACE sweet and sour service testing will be performed by the existing Corrosion Testing laboratory.
